Yesterday I had the honor of celebrating Veteran’s Day in San Antonio Texas while speaking to a group of Retirement Advisors at Conference sponsored by LPL Financial at the JW Marriott Hill Country. My day was highlighted by a Veteran’s Day Ceremony in the lobby of my hotel featuring an Honor Guard from a local battalion, lunch with my USAF Pilot Training room mate and close friend who I had not seen in 25 years, and time spent reading and reflecting on the many American’s who have sacrificed so much to preserve this great experiment that we call democracy.
Out of all of my Veteran’s Day activities, none impacted me more than reading the story of Captain Florent “Flo” Groberg who received the Medal of Honor on November 12, 2015 for his incredibly courageous actions in Afghanistan as an officer in the US Army.
